Making of: Drop 1 Photoshoot

We recently did a photoshoot for our first monster smut Sticker Drop, Exile into the Wildlands!

We figured that we had to do something dramatic for our first Sticker Drop – Go big or go home, am I right? A lot of time was spent discussing how we were going to implement "Primal", the Sticker Drops theme, into the shoot. Thus began, Operation: Primal!

Props, Props, Props!

Phase 1 of Operation: Primal was prop hunting. We were working with a very small budget, and so thrift stores and the dollar store were our best bet. After one month of acquiring random items that we just knew that we wanted to incorporate in some way or another, we were ready to move onto our next phase.

Phase 2 was location scouting. A lot more time was spent imagining what our stickers would look like in various locations. We took a lot into consideration, such as lighting, background, how silly we would look, etc. And decided that somewhere with sand would work well for the theme!

An Unexpected Challenge!

The day of the shoot arrives, all packed and ready to head out and ... it's raining and its forcasted to rain for another 3 days – good job team (me, I chose the day)! After 5 minutes of sulking, it's decided that it will be an indoor photoshoot!

Break Out the Set!

Luckily, there was at least one person on the team who knew what they were doing (thank you, Art Director). A black screen was used instead, and with a little ironing and a lot of repositioning, the pictures were ready to be taken! Some red lighting was used for some dramatic contrast, which was just held above the set at different angles.

The pictures were then cleaned up in post to make them DRAMATIC! At the end of the mission, these were the results:
